We have a special update to share about Brewski, who has been part of the Wandering Hearts Rescue family since March. His journey is a reminder that sometimes, the best thing we can do for a horse is slow down, listen, and find a different path forward.
Although Brewski had loving owners who adored him, he developed a significant and potentially dangerous bucking issue. After exhausting every avenue of testing to understand what was happening, it became clear that things simply weren’t working. When he was listed for sale, both his owners and our rescue worried about what might happen if he ended up in the wrong hands.
We knew Brewski deserved a chance.
His first step was time to decompress, live outside with friends, and simply learn how to be a horse again. No pressure, no expectations—just the opportunity to settle in and find some comfort.
During his letdown, Amy Skinner graciously offered her training expertise, helping Brewski build confidence and balance through her thoughtful, methodical in-hand work. Within just a few short weeks, we could see him becoming more comfortable in his own skin.
Now, it’s time to discover what job is right for him!
For the past two weeks, Brewski has been with Jeremy Anglin, continuing his training and working through some gaps in his foundation. He’ll be staying with Jeremy for another 30 days as they continue building his confidence and helping us better understand what the future might hold for him.
We are beyond excited to see where this next chapter leads, and we are so grateful to Amy and Jeremy for being part of his journey.
Sometimes, a horse doesn’t need to be pushed harder or asked to fit a mold that isn’t right for them. They need time, patience, understanding, and someone willing to help them find their place in the world.
Brewski’s story is still being written, and we can’t wait to see what comes next. ❤️🐴✨
